If you want to fish several days at the Dry Tortuga’s where is the best anchorage?

Mr. Begley,

The Marquesas and Marquesas Key is the only area that I know has a safe and good anchorage. What I have read is “The western anchorage provides protection against the prevailing easterlies. Be careful the approaches are shallow and the charts are inaccurate.” I have never spent much time there but I keep reading that visual bottom navigation is a must. Anchoring near the western shore of the Marquesas is where I have been told was good.

Hope this helps, and thank you for coming to The Online Fisherman. Please let us know how your trip turns out. Have a great time and be safe!!
